During the 2020 election campaign, legacy media actively colluded with the Biden campaign to stage at least one fake press conference which hid Biden’s mental incapacity. In September 2020, I wrote about a press conference during which Biden responded to softball questions by reading from prepared answers his staff created in advance of the proceedings. It was obvious then that the media helped perpetrate the fraud by secretly submitting their questions to his staff so they could script his answers in advance. 

I was not the first to make this observation. As I wrote at the time,

Joe Biden’s presidential campaign does not prescreen questions, the Daily Beast reported on July 1. He does not use a teleprompter to answer reporters’ questions, the Associated Press reported the very next day. One could certainly understand why an observer might suspect otherwise.

This wasn’t a matter of the media “looking the other way,” or pretending there was no elephant in the room. By submitting their questions in advance, these journalists demonstrated their shared lack of confidence in Biden’s ability to provide independent answers to reporters’ questions. Because of their fraud, the American people could not see Biden for the puppet he was, controlled by faceless staffers who scripted his every sentence, while hoping for the best.

Describing this scandal as a coverup of Biden’s mental incapacity only begins to encompass the problem. Biden’s candidacy was engineered by party insiders who manipulated the candidate pool by leaving Senator Elizabeth Warren in the race to split the socialist Sanders vote while eliminating the rivals who might eat into Biden’s potential share of the electorate. He was selected as much as he was elected. And even more chilling, his lack of capacity was known when he was elected in 2020.

In March 2020, even before Biden’s nomination was certain, I wrote about the scripted behavior of Biden at a rally outside of Kansas City where he spoke for 15 minutes. He got confused and stumbled although I noted the crowd easily forgave his gaffes. Even then, his opponents questioned his mental acuity. So the question is why the Democrats went to such lengths to select a man who is mentally frail when there is a whole country full of more vital candidates? The answer, of course, is that such a person makes a terrible leader but is an ideal puppet.

The cover up was never meant to protect Biden who Democrats dumped without any ceremony in 2024. It was to protect the anonymity of the puppeteer. Who controlled Biden’s autopen? Who wrote the script for his teleprompter? The fact that we don’t know the answer to those questions is the real scandal.

Biden’s mental frailty resurfaced with the release of the audio from Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interview with Biden and a number of revisionist journalist tell-alls that are now in fashion and being hawked for royalties on Amazon. Among them, Jake Tapper’s Original Sin dishonestly claims the press were merely negligent in the cover up. Not so fast. When journalists submit their questions in advance to help stage a fake press conference, they’re actively committing fraud on their audience, not just being negligent.

Eventually the press was caught red-handed by a well-positioned camera. In 2023, Jake Taper’s network CNN, published a story which included a picture of the prepared note cards Biden had for answering questions during a supposedly impromptu press conference.

The note card captured by photojournalists on Wednesday shows a head shot of a reporter on whom Biden would call, a pronunciation guide for her name, and most controversially, seems to say what she would ask.

It wasn’t until more than a year later that the dam broke and reporters “discovered” that Biden lacked mental capacity. Will there be no end to the lying? To ask is to answer.

For millions of Americans like me, the 2020 election will never live down its “election with an asterisk” status. The election was the peak of institutional collusion and interference in the democratic process. At the heart of the corruption was the legacy media’s overt and active participation in a nakedly authoritarian rigging of the election. We do not have free and fair elections so long as the press colludes with Democratic candidates to perpetuate fraud on the electorate. As a first step toward restoring democratic elections, the media should step away.
