The roster of biological males playing on women’s sports teams includes swimmer William “Lia” Thomas, a former member of the men’s team at Penn; weightlifter Joel “JayCee” Cooper, and San Jose State volleyball player Blaire Fleming. To many observers this brand of fakery may seem new, but it actually dates back to National Socialist Germany.
“In 1936, a German teenager with a talent for the high jump was recruited by the Nazi Party and given an unusual task: Pretend to be a girl,” Rose Eveleth of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s (CBC) reports. “Heinrich Ratjen was told that he must adopt a whole new gender and identity in order to bring glory to the Nazis.”
In 1938, “Dora” Ratjen broke the world record in the women’s high jump at the European Women’s Championships in Vienna. On the way home, two women reported seeing “a male person in women’s clothing.” Ratjen reportedly told police that if exposed as a man he would be associated with “great disgrace.” As Eveleth explains, “the Nazi party had a vested interest in minimizing this kind of scandal around one of its star female athletes,” and the Reich Sports Authority helped Ratjen disappear “without becoming an international news story.” Sports officials in the Soviet Union were taking notice.
“Sisters” Tamara and Irina Press of the USSR set 26 world records and at the 1960 Rome Olympics, where Irina won gold in hurdles and Tamara in the shot put. Shortly after the games, Tamara broke the world record in the discus with a toss of 187 feet and 6.57 inches. For Soviet officials, the records confirmed the superiority of Communism, but the people had cause to wonder.
At the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, Tamara won gold in the shot put and discus while Irina bagged gold in the pentathlon. To all but Soviet officials and the willfully blind, the sisters were men. True to form, neither competed in the 1966 European championships, where gender verification was introduced, and both retired shortly afterward. Irina joined the KGB and died in 2004, and Tamara, a civil engineer, passed away in 2021. By that time, the practice launched by the German National Socialists, and continued by the Soviet Communists, was again on the rise. That would not have surprised Hans Massaquoi, author of Destined to Witness: Growing Up Black In Nazi Germany.
“In their many bloody clashes for dominance in Germany,” wrote Massaquoi, “the Nazis and Commies were virtually indistinguishable. Both were totalitarians, ever ready to brutalize to crush resistance to their respective ideologies.” The Nazis aimed for a master race and the Communists promised “new Soviet man.” The concept lives on in the trans movement, part of the left’s latest construct.
Homosexuality and transgenderism are different phenomena, and “queer” can mean anything, but they are all embedded in the LGBTQ+ construct. Sneha Nair, Biden-Harris pick for “Special Assistant” at the at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), maintains that LGBTQ+ people have “special skills” and “add value to nuclear weapons policy and discourse.” Put another way: Being a member of the construct is an accomplishment and serves as a way for mediocre males to gain glory by competing against women, with official approval.
The National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) cleared the way for “Lia” Thomas, with William’s rudder still intact, to swim against women such as Riley Gaines. This year the Paris Olympics validated the victory of Algerian boxer, Imane Khelif, who inflicted savage beatings on female opponents.
As athletes and historians will recall, the Soviets had their dictatorship of the proletariat. By contrast, America and the West fall under sway of the Dictatorship of the Subjunctive Mood (DSM), the primary generator of reality dysphoria.
Elizabeth Warren can claim to be a Cherokee and continue her career after exposure of her fakery. Male athletes can be proclaimed women because they say they are, and everybody must comply. For an example of DSM in journalism, consider Eveleth’s report on “Dora” Ratjen. In 1957, in his only statement to the press, Ratjen told a British publication that he was “never a woman” and “forced by the Nazis to pose as one.” Eveleth claims “there is reason to be skeptical of this article as written.”
Ratjen “lived a largely unassuming life,” Eveleth notes, “working in his family’s pub in Bremen until his death in 2008.” (emphases added) Even so, “Ratjen’s story does not offer evidence for the need for sex tests” but “it can be seen as a microcosm of the false narratives and misconceptions still floating around when it comes to talking about gender and sports.” In reality, the false narrative is the notion that a man can become a woman and compete against actual women just because he may do so with the approval of governing sports bodies, the media, and the courts.
Real women recently got word from The New York Times that they should be known as “non-transgender women,” hardly the only sign of DSM at work. Biden judge, Kato Crews, shut down the verification process and allowed “trans” volleyballer Blaire Fleming to play against women. Other cases land in the U.S. Supreme Court. In U.S. v. Skrmetti, the Biden-Harris administration seeks to strike down Tennessee’s law restricting “transgender” procedures for minors.
Richard Levine, rebranded as Admiral Rachel Levine, Biden’s assistant secretary for Health, is on record that cross-sex hormones, puberty blockers, and gender reassignment surgeries are “medically necessary, safe, and effective for trans and non-binary youth.” The surgeries include penectomies, vaginectomies and such, dangerous irreversible procedures, but Justice Sonia Sotomayor compared the risk to taking an aspirin.
Meanwhile, Tennessee also has laws against murder, which “trans” shooter Audrey Hale violated. On March 27, 2023 in Nashville, in the run-up to the “Transgender Day of Vengeance,” Hale shot dead nine-year-olds Evelyn Dieckhaus, William Kinney, and Hallie Scruggs, along with adults Katherine Koonce, Mike Hill, and Cynthia Peak. Joe Biden failed to name a single victim and a week later White House mouthpiece Karine Jean-Pierre said “our hearts go out to the trans community as they are under attack now.” The FBI, which failed to prevent the mass murder, played no role in the takedown of Hale, and opposes release of the murderer’s manifesto.
Even in death, the trans fakes get special protections. By now it should be clear that reality dysphoria is dangerous, and incompatible with life in America moving forward.
