Violent incidents, perpetrated by the opponents of a tyrannical regime, tend to enable such regimes to become openly terrorist.  They may have been on a brutal trajectory all along, but their enemies’ acts of desperate defiance (or plain insanity) often facilitate their transition to the level of oppression which had been desired all along.

Charlotte Corday’s assassination of Jacobin leader Jean-Paul Marat in July 1793 greatly intensified the Terror.  An additional 10,000 heads rolled from the guillotine, and some 50,000 civilians were massacred in the Vendée, before the nightmare ended with Robespierre’s execution a year later.

Fanny Kaplan’s almost-successful attempt on Lenin’s life in August 1918 unleashed the brazenly murderous phase of the Bolshevik Revolution.  While recovering from his wounds, Lenin ordered his minions “secretly and urgently to prepare the terror.”  It took over a million bourgeois and kulak lives over the ensuing two years.

The Reichstag fire on the night of February 27, 1933, led to the Enabling Act less than four weeks later.  The Nazis likely did not stage-manage the incident, but they were quick to exploit the results.

Brenton Tarrant’s killing of 50 Muslims in Christchurch on March 15 falls into the same category.  It has produced an instant orgy of cultural, civilizational, and racial self-loathing all over the Western world.  It has not changed the course of events, but it has greatly accelerated the ongoing process.

Western ruling elites and their media allies have made a quantum leap toward equating Islamist violence—which in their rendering has no connection to the entity they call “true Islam”—with the loosely defined monster known as “white nationalism.”  A white nationalist is the exact equivalent of l’ennemi du peuple (1793), the klassovy vrag (1918), or the Staatsfeind (1933).  He is by definition male, white, and heterosexual.  If also a practicing Christian, unashamed of his history and ancestors and unwilling to see his country overrun by aliens, he is also a racist, xenophobic, deplorable accomplice of Tarrant.

The second consequence of Tarrant’s massacre is that the alliance between liberal-totalitarian anarchotyrants and sha ria-promoting jihadists will be permanently cemented.  CAIR in the U.S. and its fellow-conspirators elsewhere have joined forces with postmodernia demanding ever-more stringent laws criminalizing “Islamophobia.”  That crime is now clearly defined as any form of meaningful critique of Islam, its scriptural message, historical practice, and current ambitions.  Such demands already have been translated into legislative action in many countries in Europe.  In the months to come they will be promoted by the House of Representatives in the U.S. as well.

After the attacks in New Zealand liberal jihadophilia has acquired a mature form.  It is a mental disorder affecting Western politicians and their media companions characterized by a breakdown of the ability to name Muslims as perpetrators of the acts of Islamic terrorism, by the refusal to acknowledge any attacks by Muslims on Christians and other infidels (120 victims in Nigeria alone in the week preceding Christchurch), by the tendency systematically to ignore Islam as a factor in terrorist attacks, and by an acute deficit of the will to provide institutional or legal responses to such attacks.  This psychosis, hard to cure ab initio, has now reached its terminal phase.

Some 30 million Muslims reside in the Western world today (many more, on their own reckoning).  This makes the probability of any one of them falling victim to an attack by a non-Muslim white nationalist hater in any given year roughly one in ten million.  These odds may be higher than being eaten by a great white shark, but they compare rather favorably with the probability of a Frenchman being killed by a Muslim fanatic (one in a million per year) or a Christian living in a majority-Muslim country suffering the same fate (one in 10,000).

These are some of the facts that need to be taken into account as we face the continuing onslaught of massive agitprop and inducement to self-hatred from every screen and every printed page in every Western country.  The victims of violence in New Zealand deserve sympathy.  So do the victims of jihadism, which is the most murderous ideology in human history, incomparably more lethal than Bolshevism and National Socialism combined.  Such sympathy cannot and will not happen for as long as the jihadophiliac self-haters control the discourse.

A very strong medicine is needed to cure the ailment.  Jihadophilia’s behavioral consequences invariably lead to chronic morbidities, such as the advocacy of native European and European-descended population replacement by the unassimilable—in Europe’s case overwhelmingly Muslim—immigrant communities.  Psychotherapy and vocational and social rehabilitation are ineffective.  The American interest demands involuntary hospitalization of the diseased when the social and political conditions make long-overdue effective treatment methods possible.  The sooner the better.
