Donald Trump has been rebutting the media for its relentless attacks on him. The “conservative” Wall Street Journal editorial page, which always has disliked his candidacy, responded, “Donald Trump lashed out at the media on Sunday after more stories describing dysfunction inside his presidential campaign. ‘If the disgusting and corrupt media covered me honestly and didn’t put false meaning into the words I say, I would be beating Hillary by 20%,’ Mr. Trump averred on Twitter.

“Mr. Trump is right that most of the media want him to lose, but then that was also true of George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. It’s true of every Republican presidential nominee. The difference is that Mr. Trump has made it so easy for the media and his opponents.”

Actually, the difference is this time the attacks on Trump are much more vicious than anything ever faced by the Bushes—who, after all, are part of the same Establishment as the media, and even Reagan. I remember all those campaigns, and you have to go back to the slanders against Barry Goldwater in 1964 to see “reporting” as biased.

Also this time, the Journal editorial page itself despises the GOP candidate, whereas it backed the Bushes, Reagan, Dole, McCain, and Romney.

On the day the WSJ mentioned, last Sunday, I looked at the online Front Page of the New York Times. It was emblazoned with eight anti-Trump headlines, and no positive or even neutral ones:

1. Inside the Mission to Save Donald Trump From Himself (apparently this is the one the WSJ referred to.)

2. Mike Pence May Break With Donald Trump, Again, Over Tax Returns

3. He Likes Trump. She Doesn’t. Can This Marriage Be Saved?

4. A Congressman Slighted Immigrants, Then Embraced Them. Now He Runs From Trump.

5. Editorial: Donald Trump Courts the Gun Zealots

6. Douthat: Playboy for President (Douthat is supposed to be the most “conservative” columnist; neocon David Brooks also hates Trump).

7. Dowd: The Perfect G.O.P. Nominee (she means Hillary)

8. Kristof: Donald Trump Is Making America Meaner

Walter Duranty would be proud! The Times still lists him on its roster of Pulitzer Winners: “Walter Duranty, for reporting of the news from Russia.” The paper does concede, “Other writers in the Times and elsewhere have discredited this coverage. Read the Times’s statement.” Infamously, Duranty covered up Stalin’s mass starvation of the early 1930s, especially the Holodomor that starved to death seven million Ukrainians.

Is it any wonder the Main-Sleaze Media are tanking? Yahoo Finance reported on July 28 on the NYT’s financials, “Total revenues for the second quarter of 2016 decreased 2.7 percent to $372.6 million from $382.9 million in the second quarter of 2015. Circulation revenues increased 3.0 percent, while advertising revenues declined 11.7 percent and other revenues increased 4.0 percent.”

“All the News That’s Fit to Print” is the Times’ motto. More like: “All the Bias That’s Sick to Shriek.”
