With every passing day, Europe is turning browner and browner, the Old Continent being overrun by a tide of humanity not seen since the upheavals following World War II.  Just think about it: 3,000 migrants from Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Niger, and Eritrea pass daily through the Balkans on their way to Germany, France, Austria, and Sweden.  Tiny Hungary already has taken in 110,000 of these so-called asylum seekers, some of whom are not only violent but demand access to WiFi as soon as they land in my country, Greece.

I know, I know, they are from countries tortured by war, extremism, and tyranny.  But what are poor countries like mine supposed to do?  Ignore an impoverished Greek population in order to accommodate refugees from Africa?  Germany has taken 800,000 asylum seekers this year alone.  How many can a lifeboat take before it keels over and drowns everyone on board?

Migrants from Syria and Iraq may have an excuse, but the thousands from Eritrea do not.  They are simply fleeing a dictatorial regime.  In view of the fact that most African rulers are in reality dictators, does that mean that Europe should prepare itself for taking in every African who wishes to better his or her life?  Does this make sense even among the unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats of the European Union (a bureaucratic dictatorship in itself)?

The European Union has utterly failed to craft an adequate response to this monstrous challenge to the Continent’s well-being: 110,000 asylum seekers and illegal immigrants reach the European Union each month, and are waved across by the Greeks and other Balkan countries as they try to reach the richer Northern European countries.  Still, Greek islands of 35,000 have seen their populations double, as illegals are pouring in from Turkey, a stone’s throw away.

The European response to the crisis is totally unacceptable.  Most of it involves taking action against—now get this—rabble-rousers of the right who demonstrate against the human waves of illegal immigrants pouring through Turkey, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Balkans.  Even Angela Merkel, a sensible woman but first and foremost a “European,” has condemned those who correctly see the Africanization of Europe as the end of the Old Continent.  In the meantime, clowns in Brussels keep calling for poor nations to do more for the African hordes, unable to field a force that could at least act as a checkpoint.  These are the same people who encouraged Ukraine to take on Putin’s Russia a couple of years ago, and continue to boycott Putinland.  Talk about the inmates taking over the asylum.

Needless to say, the majority of Somalis and Eritreans will end up on European welfare rolls, as they have neither language skills nor any other abilities that might give them an opportunity to land jobs for themselves.  People-smuggling has become a primary business in Niger, the principal departure point for Africans.  More than half of the hundreds of thousands of West African migrants pass through Niger, yet Brussels has done nothing to stop the smuggling.  A local smuggler takes the migrants to the Arabs, who then hand them over to the Libyans, who put them on boats bound for Italy.  This is done openly and blatantly, yet the powers that be in Europe keep making intrepid declarations of future measures and doing absolutely nothing.

I almost forgot: European leaders also make false arguments about more aid to Africa being the key for halting mass migration.  This is the hardest pill to swallow.  As everyone except the unborn knows, more aid to Africa means more money in the pockets of African elites and dictators.  Eritrea is a case in point.  That miserable shithole is propped up by British and E.U. money, yet it’s comparable to North Korea when it comes to human-rights abuses.  But round, short, bald bureaucrats in Brussels insist that the only way to stem the tide of asylum seekers is by pouring money into the lands they’re fleeing from.  Go figure.

And another thing.  A welter of studies has shown that migration from Africa increases as household income there rises.  European politicians insist that aiding African nations in developing economic and social opportunities (so the people will want to stay) is the only way.  Yet the opposite takes place.  People who pay close to $5,000 to smugglers are obviously not starving nor as desperate as the media make them out to be.

Let’s put our cards on the table: The gap between the standards of living in Europe and Africa means there will always be a myriad of Africans who will try to get to Europe and enjoy its welfare state.  Yet the crooks and knaves who rule Europe turn a blind eye to reality while making promises of concrete action to be taken soon.  It is an outrage and a shame for that once-wonderful Continent to be ruled by spineless knaves and fools.  We have long wished for our disintegration, and we have finally had our wish come true.
