The X (Xavier) Files

Former Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra, who served in the Biden administration, is running for governor of California against Republican Steve Hilton. Becerra is a former congressman and state attorney general. Back in 2016, Becerra made Hillary Clinton’s short list to be her running mate for the presidency. As Becerra climbs the ranks of the Democratic Party in 2026 there’s more about him that people should know.

Born in Sacramento in 1958, the candidate bears the standard profile as the child of Mexican immigrants and the first in his family to attend college. At Stanford, Becerra signed on with MEChA, the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán. This group, a belch from the 1960s left, touts a separate nation of Aztlán in the American southwest now occupied by the evil gringos and awaiting liberation.

MEChA boasts chapters on hundreds of high school and college campuses nationwide. The movement’s rallying cry is  “Por La Raza todo, fuera de La Raza nada” meaning “For the race, everything. Outside the race, nothing.” As people should know, the raza doesn’t mean the human race. It derives from La Raza Cósmica which was written by Mexican education minister and presidential candidate Jose Vasconcelos. In his view, the race of Spaniards and Indians is destined to replace all others.

In this view, the lascivious blacks, the slant-eyed “Mongols” who “lack the necessary boldness for new enterprises” and those incredibly stupid Yankee “anglos,” are all inferior to the brilliant mestizos from the south, and are all destined to pass away. This openly racist movement gained little traction in South America, even on the left. In Memoirs of Chicano History, the Communist Bert Corona called Vasconcelos’ vision “close to the kind of German racial superiority theory supported by Hitler. In fact, Vasconcelos himself became a fascist.” True to form, during World War II, Vasconcelos edited the pro-Axis Timón magazine, launched during the Hitler-Stalin Pact.

A record of Nazi collaboration did not prevent La Raza Cósmica from adoption by the “Chicano Studies” department at Cal State Los Angeles, hardly its sole legacy. Consider the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), a high-profile example of institutionalized racism, and friendly to Democrat administrations.

In 2017, the NCLR changed its name to UnidosUS and its leader, Janet Murguía, formerly served as deputy assistant to President Clinton and deputy campaign manager for Al Gore. In 2024 the UnidosUS Action Fund, also headed by Murguía, openly supported Joe Biden, who allowed more than 10 million “migrants” into the USA, with no background checks, health records, or job prospects.

The NCLR “has maintained close relationships with Becerra for decades,” notes Susan Crabtree of RealClearPolitics. Becerra’s daughter interned there in 2012 and UnidosUS “helped shepherd his Senate confirmation as Biden’s Health and Human Services secretary.” His record as a congressman is also of interest.

Pakistani IT man Imran Awan, a favorite of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, strip-mined the computers of Democrats on the intelligence and foreign affairs committees. The material was stored on the server of the House Democratic Caucus, then headed by none other than Xavier Becerra. When investigators requested the server, they got false information, and soon after—perhaps not coincidentally—Becerra left Congress to concentrate on California politics. Then, in 2017, former California Governor Jerry Brown appointed Becerra to replace Kamala Harris attorney general, and in 2018 Becerra gained election as state attorney general. By that time, the MS-13 gang had gained a foothold in California’s central valley.

As the Fresno Bee reported, the gang “carved out a reign of terror resulting in at least 14 brutal murders in and around Mendota from 2015 to 2017.” Federal officials took the lead against the gang and Becerra said the arrests were not based on the gang member’s “status.” The Democrat AG supports California’s sanctuary law, which protects even criminal illegals from deportation.

In late 2018, a criminal illegal from Mexico murdered Newman, California, police officer Ronil Singh, a legal immigrant from Fiji who came to the United States to work in law enforcement. AG Becerra issued no statement on the murder and remained silent when illegals murdered police officer Brian Ishmael. Neither victim was a member of Becerra’s raza.

In the course of his battles with Trump, Becerra held up a sign at a press conference claiming there were “10 million immigrants,” code for illegals, being persecuted by the first Trump administration. For years, Pew Research pegged the number in the entire country at 11 million, doubtless close to the number in California alone. Many came to California to get taxpayer funded benefits, which can disqualify them from legal status. California also registers illegals to vote when they get their driver’s license.

Xavier Becerra and former secretary of state Alex Padilla, the senator nobody voted for, won’t reveal how many illegals voted in 2016, 2018, 2020, or in the 2021 recall for Gov. Gavin Newsom, who miraculously fended off that recall attempt by the exact percentage of his 2018 victory. If anybody thought that was fraud, it would be hard to blame them.

Like Newsom, Xavier Becerra has announced no plan to reform California’s bloated government, halt the fathomless corruption, or scale back the onerous tax and regulatory burden on the people. His razaista roots tie him into a network of nonprofits such as the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), which Becerra calls “my family.” The group is the recipient of more than $100 million in state funds, and its sole purpose is to prevent illegals from deportation, even the criminals among them.

For all but the willfully blind, Xavier Becerra’s activity amounts to the work of an unregistered agent of the Mexican government. Congress needs to amend the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) to make the Democrat officially register as such.

Absent that reform, and increased safeguards against voter fraud, the following will be the scene in November: Steve Hilton, already exposing Becerra’s record, will jump out to a big lead on election night. Democrats will harvest all the “provisional” (bogus) ballots until Becerra gets the win. Absent reform and safeguards, 2026 will be a repeat of 2010, when Kamala Harris prevailed by less than one percent three weeks after the election. A full 250 years after American independence, California could become more of a Mexican vassal state than it already is. So as Trump likes to say, we’ll have to see what happens.
